Vroom Vroom...

Now that most of my crazy work travel is almost done with, I have started the first unit of inquiry with Z- CARS!

Through this unit, we will explore forces and motion in science as well as learn some important science skills like collecting and recording data, and concluding from data. We will build math skills like using tally marks, measuring using a ruler, interpreting bar graphs, solving word problems and calculating elapsed time- among others. In language, we will learn how to compare and contrast in informational passages, how to use sensory details in writing and how to use alphabetical order while referencing!

We started the unit by watching a video about different types of cars that are available in the market and Z filled a table to note down all their unique characteristics.

After that, we learned about the word "CRITERIA" and he had to use the criteria from this table to sort and label his own toy cars. It was great fun!
