On a school night, Z usually slept by 8:30 pm and was up by 5:45 am. His school bus arrived by 7:10 am and he needed all that time in the morning to get ready without being rushed.
Now we don't have the pressure of waking up at such a God-forsaken hour. However, we don't want to disrupt his sleep cycle and also ensure that he does wake up on time and is ready to take on the day.
Call it serendipity or fate, but just a week before we pulled Z out, we got our club membership at one of Mumbai's finest sports clubs. So, for the last 3 weeks, Z and "addy" have been going for a swim and badminton every morning - two activities he would have never had time to pursue with his school schedule. Nor had three hours of solid quality time with his dad every day!

When Z started swimming two years ago, he was very afraid of the water. Even after he learnt basic swimming, he refused to take off his arm floats, even in the shallow. Now, he fearlessly touches the floor of the pool in 11 feet water! I am so proud of him!
We have managed to get him excited about the start of his day now, so he STILL wakes up at 6 am every single day even though there is REALLY no reason to!
